Spring in the garden at Cumberland

Hi there! The garden here at Cumberland Lorne Resort is certainly looking like Spring has hit (even if the weather is taking a little time to catch up...). Our trusty gardener tends and nurtures a range of trees, flowers and shrubs, but I have to say this weeping blossom (picture posted above) at the entrance to one of the apartment blocks is my favourite. Every year I look forward to seeing it spring into flower, and this year is no exception. 

Now daylight saving has begun, we're enjoying a few more hours to take a beach walk in the early evening or just sitting on the deck of our apartment, enjoying the view. This weekend is one of our favourite weekends of the year. Why? It's the Birregurra Festival weekend. That's why! Only a short drive from Lorne, Birregurra is a picturesque town with a fabulous weekend festival. Main Street is transformed into a vibrant marketplace with stalls selling handcrafts, organic produce and garden plants. I'll be visiting the CWA stall to purchase their fab calendar featuring the town’s favourite dogs and no doubt I'll also walk away with a jar of homemade jam. Yum!

If you're looking for me, probably best to hit the gourmet food and wine precinct. I'll be sampling cheeses, ice-cream and olives - just to start with. Possibly a little tipple from one of the local wineries or breweries too. Delicious!
